The primary function of the Bilingual Education Bureau is to ensure the implementation of the provisions of the State Bilingual Multicultural Education Act (2004) and Title III, English Language Acquisition (NCLB, 2001).
Title III Technical Assistance Manual for School Year 2011-2012
The Bureau approves and oversees programs and provides technical assistance to districts and charter schools implementing state Bilingual Education and Title IIII programs. The Bureau has formal international partnerships with Spain and Mexico, which provide schools with professional training and resources for teachers of Bilingual Education. The Bureau has also developed networking coalitions and task forces to improve Bilingual Education in the state including, but not limited to:
